been a while since i posted......had been so busy.... but finally have some time.... and got all nocturnal again. LOL
i always consider myself immune to all personality tests.... due to an overwhelming confidence that i know myself so well..... and as if wat u said is going to be me....
but the other day when i read a passage in God's Treasury of Virtues... i was like.. that is just describing me...
Simplicity is an uprightness of soul that has no reference to self; it is different from sincerity; and it is a still higher virtue. We see many people who are sincere, without being simple; they only wish to pass for what they are, and they are unwilling to appear what they are not. they are always thinking of themselves, measuring their words, and recalling their thoughts, and reviewing their actions, from the fear that they have done too much or too little. These persons are sincere, but they are not simple....

hmm...never thought of it that way...difference betw simplicity and sincerity...
I dun think someone who is trying to hide something is ever sincere...like hiding their weaknesses unnecessarily(basically, faking out sth that doesn't exist in them)...
I can't recall anywhere the Bible talks about us having to be 'simple' except for the one in Romans which talks abt being simple concerning evil(rom 16:19).
so, one note to add here...everytime we read of other ppl's list of virtues or comments, make sure we know whether the Bible does support the view or not....
it would be dangerous to take the wisdom of men and treat it as wisdom from God...
But, i'm not saying that being a 'complex' person is good...the main thing abt ppl who tries to appear complicated is that they are PROUD...they try to look sophisticated in their mannerisms and they take pride in them...their hearts are full of schemes that are unrighteous...they do things with motives..usually with reference to benefits that they'll receive...
anyway, i'm not here to write an essay...haha...but yeah...if the reason you are so careful abt the things u do is b'coz u r too concerned abt doing the wrong things that would displease God...then, it's a commendable attitude...
if the reason is b'coz u r concerned abt ur image...then, u have to listen to wat dietrich bonhoeffer said, "When Christ bids a man to come to Him, He bids him to die."
so, it all depends on ur motivations...
