More on RUBBISH

Doing more reflection these days...... And remembered Mark 2:17
On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
now aren't we all rubbish left on our own.... without hope???
And Jesus picked the rubbish up..... and saved us with His blood...
Awesome rubbish picker!

If I hear another muttering of the word "awesome" in a hippy manner due to lack of imagination and accuracy that dilutes the meaning of the word, I'm going to stop reading pages by Christians who I even so much suspect to be wagon-jumpers. - Q

Really? But Dave uses 'awesome' all the time! - and probably used it all the time before he became a Christian. So what does that have to do with wagon-jumping?

=p NOT dave =p

That's exactly what I mean! He does it too. Argh! If he had used it all the time before becoming a Christian that's just poor vocab, continuing to use it in relations to praising God, to the third person, makes his praise seem mindless/casual/routine and hence less worthy, despite the value of his praise remaining constant purely by the purity of his intention (refer to my post on Sally's blog "Controversial"). If you were a preacher and you keep using the word "awesome", people would think you're an airhead and probably not listen to you much. This is less about faith but more about expression, variety in expression in itself is a form of praise, the extra effort one takes in finding a more precise and non-routine adjective or phrase is a form of reverence to the recipient (just like writing a personal note in a birthday card). But in the end it is what you say in your heart not with your language that matters to God, so be sure to make that true first. - Q
